The LGA entered the dog days of August with a visit to the Caughnawaga Golf Club. Although the entire field came into the
tournament with high hopes, reality turned the event into a two horse race before too long into the back nine. After Hale Erwin
Norman's controversial 10 on the par-4 11th, Fred Cupholders had a ten stroke advantage over the field, then gradually gave
most of it back to a charging Norman, but was still able to hang on for a two shot win, bringing his season victory total to four
and a half. In spite of the disappointing loss, Hale Norman won yet another beer hole, bringing his beer record to an
incredible 18-1 in 2007. Dr. Mario Blondin grabbed third spot, nine shots back of Cupholders. Blondin also had the lead at
one point, namely through four holes, but his 11 on the par-5 5th hole would deny him a shot at the victory. In fact, with his
103, the doctor has now only broken 100 twice in his last seven events. Blondin's 37 putts may have also been a factor.
Completing the field once again was Paul Hornsby III, who continues to score higher than he should, this time posting a very
mediocre 112. Hornsby also contended early, but had adventures on six and on seven, the latter on which he plopped two
balls into the lake after his his drive onto the ninth fairway. Fans were trying to figure out why 'Da Turd' was asking his playing
partners for a lighter on his way to the eighth tee box, but the mystery remains.

The LGA made yet another trip to fabulous Bellevue where a barely minimum field of three battled it out on the Bellevue
course. At the start of the event, sole rightie Fred Cupholders gazed at his competiton and declared that it would be an easy
victory. He was partially correct, as the victory indeed turned out to be easy, just not for Cupholders. Chris The 9-Iron Kid
jumped ahead of the field early, mostly as a result of double-digit scores by both of his playing partners on the par-5 4th hole,
and never looked back en route to an eight stroke win over fellow lefthander Paul Hornsby III. The victory was Chris' second
this season, with the only disappointment on this day for 9-Iron being that he failed to break 100, although he had a chance
right up until 18 where he double bogeyed the easy par-4 to finish dead on one hundred. As for the rest of the field, well the
barf bags were proliferating. Hornsby once again posted a mediocre score, this time 108 with only a single par on the
scorecard. His sequence of sevens on the back nine may have been impressive had he playing slot machines, but on the
golf course would turn out rather ugly. And while on the subject of ugly, Fred Cupholders turned high hopes into no hope as
he appeared simply to be going through the motions coming in. Fred finished well back in last place, with his 119 surpassing
his worst score in many years by a large number. Strangely, Cupholders only putted 30 times during the entire round, a
statistic that would be considered impressive under normal circumstances.

Nice but windy conditions were in store for the 8th edition of the LGA Masters, held as always at The Cog. With the coveted
Yellow Jacket on the line, players' nerves, strong winds and fast greens played a role in determining the first ever LGA major
with highlights available on YouTube, and after lots of ups and downs (though not in the golfing sense), Fred Cupholders
emerged superior, edging out two-time defending chamption Costa Doinbiznis by four shots. It was Cupholders' second
career Yellow Jacket. In true LGA fashion, Fred was able to win a majour tournament while carding only one solitary par. But
as you can see by the scores, pars were not easy to come by on this day. Doinbiznis stayed in contention through 18 but
could never close the gap, as he was unable to score even a single par for the event. Third place and top lefty honours went to
Hale Erwin Norman. Hale scored a birdie on the par 3 8th, but was also unable to score coming in. His triple-bogey on 16 did
not help his cause. Paul Hornsby III was next on the leaderboard at 102. Hornsby's day was especially disappointing, as he
either led or tied through much of the event, but puked out a nine on the par 4 13th, immediately followed by a 10 on 14, to
knock him out of contention. 'Da Turd' has still not yet won a major in over 15 years of less than illustrious LGA play. Dr. Mario
Blondin was in the hunt at the turn after a 47, but would put on a festival of triple-bogeys coming in, matching Hornsby's back
9 57 as the worst for the field, to finish in 5th place, four shots ahead of sixth place Chris The 9-Iron Kid. 9-Iron's 55-53-108
also did not contain any pars. Chris had two greens in regulations where he putted a total of 7 times. Seventh and final
position fell to Pietro Lewinsky yet again, but it was a respectable showing in the conditions, and considering that he posted
three eights and a nine. The stage is now set for the 2008 Lefty Masters. With Hale Erwin Norman, Dr. Mario Blondin, Costa
Doinbiznis and Fred Cupholders having two career victories each, who will emerge from the pack? Or will a new pair of
shoulders don the jacket? The latter scenario just doesn't seem likely.
