Le Riviera was the venue for the LGA's first major of 2007, The Lefty Classic, and as the name suggests, the finish was
classic as usual. Dr. Mario Blondin jumped ahead with a serious front nine 45, then avoided catastrophe on his way in for a
five stroke win over runners-up Paul Hornsby III and Costa Doinbiznis, but it wasn't as easy as the numbers indicate.
Through 17 the doctor led by three but barely missed the famous lake on 18, while Hale Erwin Norman, in second place at
the time, decided to have his Tin Cup moment at the worst of times, heroically dropping another ball 180 yards from the hole
after finding the lake, instead of moving forward 50 yards and dropping at point of entry. Two more drowned balls later
Norman would finally get to the green and card an 11. "I don't play for second place", Norman growled as he arrived at the
18th green. Norman's stubbornness would drop him to fourth place. After sinking the putt for victory, Mario performed a
heartfelt dance, which reeked of condescension. For the aforesaid runner-up Hornsby, the second place result was a
surprise, as he was well back through 15, the last spot on the course where a leaderboard update was available. In fact,
were it not for his snot producing 9 on the par-5 11th (after a good drive), he may have had a chance for victory. The other
runner-up, Costa Doinbiznis, after being six shots back at the turn, was able to stay in contention until late in the event, but the
doctor refused to give up enough ground. 'The Biz' uncharacteristically managed only one par for the round.  Fred Cupholders
continued his bad golf of late, this time scoring 108, although with only 32 putts. His 10 on the short par-4 17th was
particularly ugly. Sixth place fell to Chris The 9-Iron Kid, who declared early in the round his refusal to ever play Le Riviera
again. His 10 on the par-4 3rd hole was the main catalyst in Chris' frustration. And while we're on the subject of frustration,
our focus turns to Pietro Lewinsky, who finished seventh. During his back nine 71, where he had three double-digit holes,
Lewinsky declared that the event would be his last. Pietro now joins every other LGA member as having at least once
declared their retirement during the course of a round, only to return at a later date. "I might as well lose all of my golf balls, I
won't be needing them anymore", was Pietro's exact phraseology. Time will tell if Pietro's retirement will stick.

After a rare summer weekend off due to leftyholic activity by a veteran member who will for now remain unnamed, the LGA
returned to action at the Woodlands course at Bellevue. As often seems to be the case at Woodlands, the finish was dramatic
once again. Leading by one headed to the 18th tee, Hale Erwin Norman crushed his drive down the middle of the fairway, only
to shank his second shot out of bounds, allowing Fred Cupholders' double-bogey on 18 to be just good enough for an official
Lefty Golfers Association victory, bringing his season total to two and a half. Fred's day was highlighted by a birdie on the par-3
9th. The double-digit round was especially important to Cupholders after two straight disappointing rounds. As for Norman,
appearing in only his fourth event of the campaign, the defeat was bitter. Not only did he play the last two holes in 7-over par,
costing him the win, it also cost him a sub-100 round, leaving his season average spot on the century mark. Third place fell to
Paul Hornsby III. Only two shots back at the turn after scoring pars on the front's three par-3's, 'Da Turd' expectedly fell out of
contention by the 14th tee, subsequent to his three consecutive triple-bogeys on holes 11, 12 and 13, all upon which Paul
launched good drives. Dr. Mario Blondin rounded out the field, which of course indicated that it was once again another late
night for the doctor down at the clinic. Although his swing was far from clinical, as his sum total of zero pars would show, his
headache was almost certainly so, with his 41 putts almost surely adding to the pain.

For the first time since the 2003 Lefty Olympics of Golf, the LGA graced the fairways (and other areas) of Meadowbrook Golf
Club for an 'official' event. The turnout was good, as were the course conditions (surprisingly) and the competition as well.
Chris The 9-Iron Kid surprised the lefty golfing world with a dramatic one shot win over Costa Doinbiznis for his first
tournament victory of the year. The battle for this one was intense from early on, and stayed heated until the last shot. As the
see-saw battle progressed, it remained anyone's game. Consecutive pars by 9-Iron on 12 and 13 allowed for a three shot
lead at that point, but Doinbiznis would par 15 while Chris 3-putted, reducing the gap to one once again. Then Doinbiznis
pumped his fist on 17 after a good shot from trouble, only to post a pricey three-putt, effectively costing him the event. Headed
to 18, with the leaders already in the clubhouse, Chris needed bogey for the win and scored exactly that. Also in the heated
battle until the bitter end was Fred Cupholders, who finished third with a 92. Cupholders kept it straight all day, but could only
manage two pars. Fourth place finisher Dr. Mario Blondin finished off the podium in spite of a 94. Blondin played very well, and
could not have known that his triple-bogey on the second hole would end up being as costly as it was. Mario's was probably
the lowest fourth place score in LGA history. Continuing down the leaderboard we find Hale Erwin Norman finishing 5th, one
shot on the good side of the century mark. Norman posted several too many triple bogeys of his own to stay in contention. He
also scored an eight on the 10th, although he wasn't alone on the most difficult of par-4's. Paul Hornsby grabbed sixth spot,
failing to break 100 once again. He actually played well enough to join his opponents in double-digits, except for a brief spell
on five where he shanked two shots in a row to the right and sadly, out of bounds. Hornsby walked away from five with an 11.
Finishing in seventh (last) place, Tommy Armoury sported his new clicking score counter, in anticipation of another round in
the 160's. He surpassed all expectations carding a 138, a lifetime low, which included his first ever regulation green on the
par-3 (naturally) 7th hole. His birdie putt hit the hole then rolled 20 feet past. Needless to say, Tommy missed the par putt,
settling for bogey, learning to play LGA quality golf while his career is still in its infancy.

50-56--- 106
Another in the series of Friday morning events took place at Vaudreuil. In the searing heat and humidity, our barely official field
of three moved slowly to conserve energy, which is always a good idea in the LGA, where the number of swings taken never
seems to wane. This one was interesting for most of the day. With all three players tied at 50 through nine, although via
differing methods, Fred Cupholders scored two birdies, both on par 3's, one on each nine, and added four pars, allowing him
to pull away from his lefty opposition coming in for the victory. A glance at the scorecard paints the picture with glaring
accuracy. Chris The 9-Iron Kid was only one back through 11, but a nine on the par-4 12th coupled with a pair of eights later
on would prove to be his demise. Thanks to Hornsby, who survived a 1st hole 10 to stay in contention at the turn, the sparse
gallery (three birds, a frog and the Marshall) could dance to the rhythmic sounds of golf ball hitting tree bark, sounds we have
heard almost all summer long. This helped balloon 'Da Turd' to a 56 back, rendering his chances of winning next to zero. With
the two birdies, Fred now has 6 on the season, and that combined with Costa Doinbiznis'total of 7 give righthanders 13 of the
LGA's 15 birdies this year, causing Association officials to wonder if there could be mitigating factors apart from the
southpaws' legendary lack of talent.

48-45---   93
55-52--- 107
51-59--- 110
Anticipating excellent course conditions after last weekend's return to Meadowbrook after a four year absence, the LGA
returned with an all-lefty threesome. The trio would find the course very dry, and that would play a huge role before all was
said and done. The scorecard shows that Hale Erwin Norman stretched a one shot lead through 13 to a runaway 14 stroke
victory over Paul Hornsby III. The card also shows that Hale had six pars for the day, with four of them during his strong back
nine 45. What the scorecard does not show is the spectacular loss of temper displayed by Dr. Mario Blondin on the 17th tee
box, after a series of unlucky bounces on the two previous holes. After scoring a 10 on the beer hole par-3 16th, Blondin hit
his tee shot on 17 into the bushes then threw his driver up into the trees on the right, where it is destined to spend the winter,
well out of reach of any human beings. The doctor was so mad that his playing partners had to count his shots over the last
three holes. As for Hornsby, who was given a surprise second place finish thanks to Mario's shenanigans, he played the
entire 18 holes without scoring a single par. Paul has only broken 100 once so far this season, and it looks as though he will
complete the month of July, traditionally his best month, without achieving that feat. And here's another surprising tidbit of
information The victory was only Norman's second of 2007.
