The LGA celebrated the arrival of the month of June with an official event at La Madeleine. Playing on the Le Presidentiel 18, the
league's top players (and Paul Hornsby III) fought it out, with the sole rightie Costa Doinbiznis emerging once again as the
victor, this time by three over Hale Erwin Norman. Doinbiznis appeared to be in trouble early, after opening with a 9 on the par-4
1st hole, but as we all know by now, in the LGA, no lead is big enough, especially when 'The Biz' is in the field. Costa also
managed a nine coming in, on the par-5 15th, but he won anyway. As for Norman, after scoring par on the first two holes, it was
mostly downhill. Norman rarely puts together two consecutive nines over 50, but succeeeded in that endeavour today, for the
first time since June 12th of last year. Dr. Mario Blondin took third place, but was also disappointed with his triple digit
performance (104). Mario's only par of the day on the par-5 6th came immediately following a 10 (hurl!!!) on the par-4 5th,
cancelling out the par and then some. All three of these performances, however mediocre, were still better than that of Paul
Hornsby III, whose 111 was his fourth straight round in triple digits, and his second straight over 110. After walking away from
hole number nine a bit discouraged with his 57 front, Hornsby crushed a drive down the middle on 10, only to subsequently put
three balls into the lake guarding the green. Hornsby would score an 11, the number of ones required to mark that number
serving as a harbinger of what would be his day's destiny, a score containing nothing but ones.

An enthusiastic group of seven headed over the Champlain Bridge to the course closest to our homes, but furthest from our
hearts, Brossard. Costa Doinbiznis continued his stellar 2009 season, going out in a sizzling 42 with featured a birdie on the
par-4 7th, and easily holding off a charging Dr. Mario Blondin for a five stroke victory and the LGA's low round of the year, an 86.
It was Costa's fourth win in only five attempts this year. Blondin also had a solid round, especially over the final nine holes, on
which he shot 43.Finishing third with a rather surprising performance was Paul Hornsby III, who out of nowhere spit out an
unlikely front nine 43, which included a par-par start, and coasted from there to a 95, his best score since September 20, 2008.
Hornsby made a birdie of his own on the par-4 14th. Taking fourth place, also in double-digits, Chris The 9-Iron Kid's 99 also
featured a birdie, this one on the par-4 5th, which he followed up (in true LGA fashion) on the next hole with a triple bogey.
Pietro Lewinsky took fifth place honours, a full 16 shots behind 9-Iron. His 115 score, although not phenomenal, was his best
of '09 so far, and his round also included a birdie, somewhat a rarity for Lewinsky, on the par-3 4th, in effect the first birdie of the
day. In fine LGA tradition we finish with the battle for the bottom, snagged by Boo Monthley over Tom Whatson?. The rookie
Monthley, in only his third LGA career event, lowered his personal best by a massive 20 shots, carding five bogeys en route to a
124, eight better than seventh-place Tom Whatson?. As for Whatson?, he also lowered he season best by 20 shots, but only
because his only other appearance so fat this season was his brutal 152 at Deux-Montagnes on May 18th. After the event, Tom
declared that he would like never to play golf at Brossard again, although it is unclear whether this was due to his performance,
or some other factor this reporter forgot to ask about.
