Les Legendes was the venue for the inaugural event of the 2009 LGA season on a fine but cool and windy Easter Monday.
Costa Doinbiznis returned to the LGA after a lengthy absence, continuing effectively where he left off with an easy eight shot
victory over top lefty Dr. Mario Blondin. 'The Biz' did not have the greatest of days, but a long birdie on the par-4 9th and some
decent scrambling allowed him to enter into the clubhouse in double digits, however barely. As for Blondin, who sported a
spanking new Taylor Made driver which translated immedialtely into extra distance, his 107 score was a major
disappointment, inspite of the difficult conditions which LGA officials estimated added approximately eight strokes to each
player's scorecard. Mario's 40 putts did not help matters either. Chris The 9-Iron Kid prevailed in grabbing third spot from Paul
Hornsby III, albeit by one solitary shot. Chris' first ever appearance in a season opener featured three pars including one of
the chip-in variety on the par-4 10th, but any momentum gathered by The 9-Iron Kid was spoiled by his 10 on the par-4 14th. In
fine LGA tradition, at least in the absence of other esteemed members, Paul Hornsby III kicked off another campaign with a
last place finish and a mediocre 113. Although Hornsby's round had some good stretches, namely his two pars and a birdie
over four holes to complete the front nine, 'Da Turd' also managed a 13 on the par-5 2nd hole. Hornsby played the four par-5's
in an incredibly smelly 39 shots, prompting the Association to consider the issuance of gas masks for the sparse galleries, in
compliance with some obscure, and perhaps non-existent, municipal regulation with respect to public health.

For the second time in six days, the LGA graced the fairways (and forests and bunkers and lakes) of Les Legendes Golf Club.
Although the weather conditions were improved when compared to last Monday's event, the scores were hardly so, with a
couple of notable exceptions. One such exception was that of Dr. Mario Blondin, who avenged his 107 from the season
opener with a solid 94, good enough for a six shot victory over Fred Cupholders. The doctor's round included four pars and
some red hot putting, a feat not done justice by the number of putts on his card (34). Runner-up Cupholders, in his season
debut, had a decent round considering it was his first since last autumn, but he failed to break the 100 barrier thanks in most
part to an untimely eight on the par-4 16th hole. Ten shots behind Cupholders, tied for third place, were Paul Hornsby III and
Pietro Lewinsky, the latter also appearing in his first event of 2009. For Hornsby, the result was a major disappointment.
Headed to the 17th tee needing two pars to break 100, Paul proceeded to make a complete mess of the beer hole 17th,
walking away with a 12 and effectively handing third place on the proverbial silver platter to Pietro Lewinsky. As for Lewinsky,
his 110 was considered a triumph, as it was by far his best score to start a season ever. Pietro, however, blew the aforesaid
silver platter opportunity by four-putting on the 18th green, from no further than 6 feet, to fall back into a tie for third place with
Hornsby.

More cool and windy weather greeted our heroes as a full foursome headed to the Saint-Louis Course at Terrebonne for a
rare Friday event. Dr. Mario Blondin continued his solid play, especially around the greens (in tremendous condition for the
time of year), and took advantage of his first birdie of the year on the par-4 11th en route to a runaway 15 shot win, Mario's
second in three attempts this year. The doctor took the lead after hole number 4 and never looked back, amassing four pars
along the way in addition to his bird. The battle of the day was for second spot between Paul Hornsby III and Fred Cupholders.
The pair were never more than four shots apart, and carried on their see-saw battle until the bitter end, where they would end
up tied at 107, a crappy score for both. Cupholders' round was noteworthy in that he putted only 31 times, but was otherwise
'not worthy', while Hornsby's day would have been a bit better had be been able to make a putt. Rounding out the field, in his
second appearance in less than a week, was Pietro Lewinsky. Entering the round with high hopes after a record start to the
year, Lewinsky left the 18th green rather disappointed in his 120 stroke performance. His 12 on the par-5 10th hole did not
help his cause. Lewinsky chipped in for double bogey on 17 to give him something to dream about tonight, but the majority of
his round will hopefully be forgotten soon, as it was indeed forgetful.
