The LGA got off to an early start to the 2007 campaign, with its inaugural visit to Les Legendes. In what could be an indication
of things to come, a majority of the participants were righthanded, with the hapless Paul Hornsby III, representing the lefties.
Melting snow and plenty of sunshine kept the golfers company, as Costa Doinbiznis had an excellenet start to his season,
carding two birdies and adding four pars to the mix en route to a 92, the lowest opening day score in LGA history. Also starting
the season nicely was Fred Cupholders, who also scored in double-digits, posting a 96 which included a birdie of his own, his
first since 2005! Although disappointed with his runner-up result, Fred finished 19 shots ahead of the next closest competitor,
the aforementioned Paul Hornsby III. Hornsby's round was proceeding well enough until the par-4 7th (actually the 16th since
the tournament was started on the back nine), where he shot a 10. Paul would enter the clubhouse with a disappointing 115.
And speaking of disappointments, rounding out the field was Pietro Lewinsky. After a truly hideous front-nine 73 (which
included two 11's and a 12!), things started to look up for Lewinsky. In fact, he scored back to back pars coming in, including a
beer hole victory (shared with Costa Doinbiznis). His back nine 57 was one better than Hornsby, indicating that we may see a
repeat of his victory over Hornsby in '06, although he will probably, but not necessarily, have to score lower than 130 to achieve
this.

CHRIS THE 9-IRON KID
47-50--- 97
53-48--- 101
50-53--- 103
After a couple of weekends off the LGA returned to action at Vaudreuil, where this season's new occasional Friday morning
event was introduced, to stunningly beautiful April sunshine. The extrememly sparse gallery (consisting entirely of animals,
mostly birds) enjoyed a relatively close competition, with Fred Cupholders jumping to an early lead, and holding on for a four
shot win over Paul Hornsby III for his first tournament victory of the young season. As is usually the case with Cupholders, his
97 was spectacularly unspectacular, consisting of a single par, but conversely only a single triple bogey on 18. For runner-up
Hornsby, it was a day mixed with emotions ranging from elation to great disappointment. Hornsby found his game for a while,
scoring four consecutive pars on holes 9 through 12, a personal best. He also totalled six pars for the round matching a career
high. Still, needing only double bogey on 18 to break 100 for the first time since June 18, 2006, Hornsby hit his drive into the
tree line, and displaying his standard course management talent, finished the hole with a nine. Chris The 9-Iron Kid made his
season debut, finishing third, but only six shots behind the victor. 9-Iron failed to score a par on the day, but still entered the
clubhouse with an acceptable 103, on a scorecard with contained no worse than eight strokes on a hole. When questioned
about his round during the press conference following the event, Chris appeared unsatisfied, but it was impossible to
determine through his response how he actually felt about it.

*COSTA DOINBIZNIS
DR. MARIO BLONDIN
PAUL HORNSBY III
41-46--- 87
47-47--- 94
55-56--- 111
The LGA completed its first doubleheader weekend of 2007, with the tail end of consecutive visits to Vaudreuil. Costa
Doinbiznis followed up on his tremendous start to '07 by posting a sizzling front nine 41, and despite fading slightly over the
finishing holes (5 over par for 3 holes could hardly be considered 'fading' in the LGA based on historical records), equalled his
career low 87 to remain undefeated for the season. Costa counted six pars for the day, all over a ten hole stretch beginning at
number three. Dr. Mario Blondin waited until the season's third 'official' event to make his debut, and played very well, despite
being overshadowed by Doinbiznis' seven shot margin and appearing nervous and maybe even worried about his prospects.
The doctor parred the first two holes, and played steadily thereafter entering the clubhouse with a 94. Blondin was the top lefty
for the day by a mere 17 strokes over last place finisher Paul Hornsby III. Using a hangover as an excuse, Hornsby could not
follow up on his season low round of the previous day. 'Da Turd' scored a total of zero pars and made his already high
seasonal scoring average slightly worse with a 111 which featured more than a few missed fairways, missed putts, and lost
golf balls. If Hornsby didn't already have so many nicknames around the league, he would have been christened 'Tick-Tock'
after this performance, and no, not because his swing is as reliable as a timepiece.

*COSTA DOINBIZNIS
PAUL HORNSBY III
*PIETRO LEWINSKY
48-42--- 90
59-54--- 113
66-79--- 145
The non-girliemen division of the LGA (slightly revised from a couple of years back to include Pietro Lewinsky to the exclusion of
Dr. Mario Blondin), braved a very light rain for the first several holes of this 'official' LGA event at Les Legendes, the
Association's newest venue. Honestly, the course was not only 'not unplayable', as LGA brass determined were the official
course conditions in deciding whether the event would take place, but indeed was actually very playable. Unfortunately, only one
entrant, the red hot Costa Doinbiznis, played the course, tying an LGA all-time record with three birdies, and adding five pars to
the tally, on his way to another fine score, this time a 90, which also included, surprisingly, a 10 on the par-5 2nd hole. 'The Biz'
faced an easy field, or as resident LGA oddsmaker Pavlo "The Greek" Hornsbidakis put it, the payoff in wagering on Costa was
"pennies to the dollar". Doinbiznis proved this by running away with a 23 shot margin of victory over runner-up Paul Hornsby III
(not an LGA record, believe it or not), and in the process remained undefeated for 2007. Hornsby started weakly, needing two
shots to cover the first 25 yards, then increased the quality of his play thereafter to mediocre. Although disappointed, Paul could
take solace in the fact that his 113 was a whopping 32 shots better than third place finisher Pietro Lewinsky. After a front nine
66 which included only two holes in double figures, Pietro entered truly vomit-reeking mode, carding another four holes in
double digits, including a 19 (heave!!!) on the par-4 14th hole, as well as several airballs on tee shots, for a puke-spewing total
of 79. Still, on a positive note, Lewinsky's third place result was his best this season. He also finished 'top blond' for the
tournament.
