The LGA kicked off its 14th season with its first visit to Vaudreuil in over a decade. Dr. Mario Blondin, coming off his most
disappointing season ever, kept every tee shot in play en route to a respectable 48-48 and an easy 15 shot victory over
runner-up Paul Hornsby III. The doctor only scored one par for the round, but against such weak competition, that par would be
rendered overkill. For long-time lefty loser Hornsby, although he hit the ball as far as ever (several went out of bounds), his 111
was a disappointing start to what he has so pompously predicted to be the Year of The Hornsby. As always, only time will tell,
and in Hornsby's case, it appears it may not take much time at all for the hurtful truth to emerge. Top righthander was Pietro
Lewinsky, playing in his first season opener. Although Pietro scored the LGA's first regulation green of the 2005 season, he
would balloon to a vomit-reeking 142, high by even Pietro's diminished standards. Lewinsky's round was also memorable in
that he played his first ever shot from a snow bank situated within a water hazard. Also scheduled to participate was 2004 LGA
Player of The Year Hale Erwin Norman, but he chickened out at the last minute, declaring the 14 degree Celcius temperature
as 'too cold', and the lone cloudy period as 'too ominous'.

*COSTA DOINBIZNIS
49-48--- 97
49-56--- 105
55-52--- 107
64-53--- 117
For a second straight week, the LGA headed west to Vaudreuil, where summer-like weather greeted our foursome. Hale Erwin
Norman, deciding that it was warm and dry enough, made his season debut, and continued his hot streak from last October,
breaking 100 and taking his first victory of the young season, finishing eight shots better than runner up Dr. Mario Blondin. The
doctor actually remained in contention through 10 holes, at which point he was tied with Norman, but a horrid 10 on the par-3
11th put him out of the game. Blondin would score his first birdie of the season later on during the back nine. Completing
another lefty 1-2-3 sweep was Paul Hornsby III. However difficult it is to believe, Hornsby is off to his best start ever in 2004. His
107 was actually a good score if you check back to past April rounds. His day was highlighted by consecutive chip-ins on 13
and 14, one for par, and the other for, that's right, double bogey. Top righthander was Costa Doinbiznis, also in his season
debut. 'The Biz' had a topsy-turvy round to say the least. After a front nine 64 which featured a 12 (hurl!!!) on the par-4 7th, he
would card two birdies coming in, but also a 14 (heave!!!) on the par-4 14th hole for a back nine 53, still overall a crappy round
for Doinbiznis. That being said, Costa's round is the best posted by a righthander this season.
